Youth Writing Camp for Mercer County Youth
The Mercer County District Library is pleased to announce they have been awarded an Ohio Arts Council Grant to support Youth Creative Writing sessions.
Students may choose to write a children’s book or a full novel and may choose any writing genre. Here are a few things they will learn: How to create a catchy opening paragraph, learn about character development, plotting, rising tension, voice, emotions, word building, universal themes, revision strategies, and much more!
Writing notebooks, pens, and a printed anthology will be provided through the Ohio Arts Council funding. Students may bring personal laptops if they prefer.
When the camp and writings are completed, a celebration will be held at the Mercer County District Library on Saturday June 28th, at 10:00 am. Students will have the opportunity to voluntarily read portions of their completed work to family, friends, relatives and the public.
